Our Story

This Is a Movement.
Not Just a Service.

VR Health Ventures was born from the belief that every older adult regardless of where they live or what their body can do deserves to feel wonder, connection, adventure, and joy. We don't simply provide VR. We bring the world back within reach.

A Mission Born From Service

After a distinguished career serving our nation in the United States Navy, Carlos Lujan came home carrying something most veterans carry a deep, unshakeable sense of purpose. He had spent years showing up for others. He wasn't about to stop.

While helping care for his 82-year-old grandmother alongside his wife, Kelsey, Carlos witnessed a troubling reality. Many aging adults — people who had served their country, raised families, built careers, and shaped their communities were watching their worlds grow smaller due to age, health challenges, and limited mobility. Carlos saw more than limitations. He saw adventurers who still wanted to explore, storytellers who still wanted to share, and dreamers who still wanted to discover. He believed growing older shouldn't mean growing disconnected from the world. That belief inspired VR Health Ventures a mission-driven company dedicated to helping seniors, older adults, and aging-in-place residents rediscover wonder, connection, adventure, and joy through immersive experiences that bring the world back within reach.

He discovered that virtual reality the same technology transforming military training could be reimagined as a portal to wonder. A way to bring the ocean, the mountains, the world, and even cherished memories back to people who thought those doors had closed forever.

In 2025, he founded VR Health Ventures in San Diego. Not as a technology company. As a movement dedicated to restoring dignity, joy, and connection to every older adult we serve.

"I've seen what it looks like when someone feels truly seen and valued. That's what we're creating, one moment of wonder at a time."

Our Mission

We Don't Simply Provide VR.
We Restore Wonder.

Our mission is to help seniors, older adults, and those aging in place rediscover the world to feel the ocean breeze, witness elephants in the wild, revisit the places they've loved, and experience the joy of being fully alive. Whether it's soaring over the California coastline, swimming alongside dolphins, or exploring places they've only dreamed of seeing we transform ordinary afternoons into extraordinary moments of connection, dignity, and joy.

What Drives Us

The Values That Drive This Movement

These aren't corporate values on a wall. They're the principles Carlos carried home from service and the ones that guide every session, every partnership, and every moment of wonder we create.

Service

A career of service instilled in us the belief that showing up — fully, reliably, and with purpose — is the highest form of respect.

Compassion

Every resident we serve has a lifetime of stories, experiences, and dreams. We approach each session with genuine care and deep respect.

Innovation

We believe technology should serve humanity — not the other way around. VR is our tool; human connection is our mission.

Community

We partner with facilities as true collaborators, working alongside staff to create experiences that strengthen community bonds.

Integrity

We do what we say, say what we mean, and hold ourselves to the highest standards of professionalism in every interaction.

Empathy

We lead with heart — listening deeply, honoring each resident's story, and showing up with genuine care in every session we deliver.
